The original records no longer are available due to a fire in 1998 that destroyed Metcalf Funeral Home. The work at hand was prepared from Metcalf's "Records of Funeral", Books up through August 1981 and includes all entries of genealogical value. These abstracts, the only record of death obtainable for some individuals, contain data normally shown on a death certificate.
