Any person who is a direct descendant of an individual who settled prior to December 31, 1861 and lived in an area considered to be Montgomery County at the time specified for documentation for application of the ancestor may become a member of the Early Settlers of Montgomery County, Texas. Each application contains proof of descent. Abstractor Vera Wimberly arranged the early settlers in alphabetical order and has cross- referenced each name.
